Turmeric prices dropped on the back of poor quality of arrivals and slack upcountry demand.
Increased arrivals from the producing belts as well as subdued demand in the domestic market also dampened the sentiments.
Demand for the hybrid finger turmeric increased due to quality but enquiries for other varieties were limited resulting in half the arrivals being unsold.
In Nizamabad, a major spot market in AP, the price ended at 5932.6 rupees dropped -41.2 rupees.
